PRESENTING
I’m the kind of person who believes that actions speak louder than words. Strange considering music journalism was how I started out, I know. But I believe in a 360 approach towards music promotion, and thus as a result began to dabble in a little hosting/presenting to better understand the mechanics and effectiveness of different mediums. Plus, I just love talking about music (my sister would argue that I just love talking PERIOD) at any given opportunity!
Happy TV: NDP Connect (2015, Singapore)
During my internship for small Singaporean production company Happy TV in mid-2015, I acted as assistant producer for their project called NDP Connect, which involved a live streaming of celebrations of Singapore’s National Day throughout many communities in Singapore and overseas. I was also in charge of live streaming and hosting the Perth stop of the event, which mostly composed of me rudely interrupting strangers and them running away from me as I tried to interview them.
Asian Pop Weekly Radio
My friend once suggested to me that I create a radio show for my website. Quite taken with the idea, I finally got around to creating a podcast series called Asian Pop Weekly radio. With only two episodes under its belt before I put the show on hiatus, it was a pity, but nevertheless an important learning experience which helped greatly in my hosting of Hello Asia! radio.
